TRANSITION: ARTISTS' STUDY DAY

Thursday 7 March, 1.30pm - 5pm at The Barber Institute of Fine Arts, University of Birmingham, Edgbaston Campus. B15 2TS

This free event has been organised to accompany the New Art West Midlands 2013 exhibitions.

Speakers include:

Jeremy Millar (Artist & Tutor in Art Criticism, RCA)
Lynda Morris (Chair of Curation and Art History, NUCA and Founder EASTInternational)
Keith Piper (Artist & Programme Leader MA Fine Art, Middlesex University)
Deborah Robinson (Head of Exhibitions, The New Art Gallery Walsall)

The event will be chaired by Jason E Bowman (Artist & Head of MA Fine Art, Valand School of Art, Gothenburg). The discussions will address the challenges and opportunities facing emerging artists today exploring shifting perceptions of regional devolution, the art-world, artist as activist and artist as genius. This event will have relevance for artists (emerging and established), curators and those working in art higher education settings.

Places are limited so early booking is advisable.
