Jim Hawkins lives at the Admiral Benbow inn, where his mother is the landlady. He is kept busy doing odd jobs around the inn but in his spare moments he dreams of having adventures on the high seas.

Thanks to a drunken Irish seaman, a pirate's treasure map comes unexpectedly into his possession. But it seems Jim is not the only one interested in the map. The sinister Pew and his gang of ruffians raid the Admiral Benbow in search of the map and Jim and his mother barely escape with their lives.

Jim shows the treasure map to Squire Trelawney who enthusiastically suggests they hire a ship and crew and go to seek the treasure. Meanwhile Jim is smitten by Hermione, Trelawney's lovely niece. She longs to go on the voyage but Trelawney forbids it.

Two weeks later Jim is in Bristol where he meets the one-legged seaman Long John Silver. Silver tells him that he is embarking on the same voyage as Jim and introduces the extremely motley band who will crew the ship.

A few weeks into the voyage Jim discovers that Hermione was not content to stay at home after all, and that Silver and the crew are not what they pretend to be...!

Treasure Island is a thrilling family adventure with songs, humour and some very desperate buccaneers.

STANTONBURY CAMPUS THEATRE

FARM BOY

By Michael Morpurgo

The compelling sequel to the award-winning War Horse

New Perspectives Theatre Company

Adapted and directed by Daniel Buckroyd

Saturday 2nd February 2.30pm

It sometimes felt as though time had stood still on the family farm – swallows nesting in the eaves, the old Fordson Tractor quietly rusting in the back of the barn, Grandpa still tending his chickens – that is, until the summer his grandson finished school and came to stay, and the old man started telling stories of what it had been like on the farm when he was a boy.

The compelling sequel to the award-winning War Horse is a moving account of the changing face of the English countryside and a beautifully-crafted reminder that stories really can reach out across the generations.

Following critically-acclaimed runs at both the 2010 Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the 2011 Brits Off Broadway Festival in New York, plus a hugely successful UK tour, this magical tale of the bonds linking grandfather to grandson and ultimately both to the land has once more been brought to life by New Perspectives Theatre Company in their delightful touring show combining drama, storytelling and original music.

War Horse sequel ploughs a rich furrow **** Daily Mail
