New Art West Midlands, showcasing the best new art by emerging West Midlands graduates continues at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and the Barber Institute of Fine Arts until Sunday 19 May 2013.
As part of the exhibition both institutions are holding a series of talks and tours:

 

13 - 27 April 2013
This 3 week course will introduce you to the ideas and theories behind contemporary art.
The course will take place on these dates and locations:
11am–4pm, Saturday 13 April 2013 - Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery.   
11am–4pm, Saturday 20 April 2013 - Grand Union, Birmingham.
11am–4pm, Saturday 27 April 2013 - The Barber Institute of Fine Arts.

1pm, Friday 26 April 2013, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery - FREE
Artists featured in New Art West Midlands will give a unique viewing of the exhibition and discuss their artworks in detail. 
1.15pm, Tuesday 7 May 2012. The Barber Institute of Fine Arts
Exhibiting artists will give a tour of the current show.

1pm, Wednesday 8 May 2013, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery - FREE

Join the exhibition curator for an insight into the exhibition and the New Art West Midlands project.

Free Drop-in Sessions For Artists in the West Midlands

Where? School of Art lecture room, BIAD, Margaret Street, Birmingham. B3 3BX

When? Monthly -
Wednesday 17 April - 5-6.30
Wednesday 22 May - 5-6.30
Wednesday 19 June  - 5-6.30

Who for? Artists and makers and any one involved in the visual arts.

What is it? An opportunity to ask questions – about anything: Making applications, commissions, professional development, where to find opportunities, what is Turning Point? What are the priorities for artists in the region? ........

The sessions are informal and aim to benefit artists through shared information.
