Auction 13 by Graphic Design students

Posted: 26 Apr 2013 02:13 AM PDT

Auction 13 is a creative postcard auction fundraising for Show Thirteen – the 2013 Graphic Design degree show.

A variety of creatives from around the world have contributed postcards including David Airey, Yulia Brodskaya, Manny Ling and Catherine Zask. All of their postcards are displayed in the front window at Thomas Parker House on the corner of Silver Street and Freeschool Lane in the heart of Lincoln, where they are revealing the names of all creatives involved.

You can get involved in their guessing game on twitter by tweeting the postcard number and your guess to @auctionthirteen.

The auction will go live on ebay Monday 6 May and bidding will end at 6 pm Sunday 12 May. It's a great opportunity to bid on a unique piece of design and support Show Thirteen.

In the meantime, don't forget to keep an eye on the window whilst they reveal the names! If you are not in Lincoln, you can follow them either on their blog and on Twitter.

Arts Council England supports the Arts in Lincolnshire

Residents in Holbeach in the south corner of Lincolnshire will wake up to an extraordinary sight on Sunday 5 May as Carter's Park is transformed for the launch of Transported.

Transported is an Arts Council England 'Community People and Places' project which aims to get more people in Boston and South Holland enjoying the arts and participating in arts activities wherever they live, meet and work. Initial funding secured through the National Lottery is for the next 2½ years and will include the launch, a period of community consultation and then the delivery of a specially devised arts programme from September 2013.

Aerial dancers suspended on wires, a junk orchestra, street entertainers, a community parade, interactive artworks, musicians, and something extremely large and very colourful - a luminarium - will pop up in Carter's Park on Sunday 5 May between 1pm and 4.30pm. Bringing together top international artists, national companies and home-grown talent, the Launch of Transported will delight and amaze the people of Holbeach and beyond.

Internationally renowned company Architects of Air bring their extraordinary luminarium 'Miracoco' - a monumentally huge, inflatable walk-in sculpture that that immerses the visitor in a unique and sensory light, sound and colour experience, creating a sense of wonder. Inspired by the pure forms of geometry and nature, by grand cathedrals, iconic temples and modern architecture, the luminarium's voluminous domes and silvery peaked star shapes provide a breathtaking sight. Inside the luminarium, musician Jo Freya will play saxophone, providing a live soundtrack.

The Transported Launch is free to attend: Sunday 5 May in Carter's Park, Holbeach, PE12 7PT from 1pm - 4.30pm
