Using air-drying clay and collage, can you create each other in a 3D form? If you wish to bring along a photo, memory or story you are very welcome and these can be included in your artwork. |

With Philippa Tipper Saturday 18 May / 1-3pm / Free Bring family photos, toys, favourite clothes, pictures, and a story to a fun session involving storytelling, drama, drawing, jumping around and making noise. Philippa Tipper from 'A Word in Edgeways' will help bring together all the mad stories and ideas into one big Epic Journey celebrating 'Mum and Co'. From family ideas, to storyboard to performance; everything will go in the big creative melting pot...who knows what the result will be? This Saturday's Mini Makers coincides with Mum's Stories, a chance for Mum's to contribute their favourite images and stories to the growing Story of Mum exhibition. How did you manage that transition from before to after? Did you change? Transform? Disappear? Or re-appear anew? Today we are collecting stories and are keen to hear yours. Select and send 10 digital images to trevor@thisismyflim.com before the event. You will be allocated a 15 minute time slot for Saturday 18 May, during which Trevor will look to capture your story for you and share it via Story of Mum to a worldwide online community. |
| Posted: 26 Apr 2013 07:03 AM PDT Saturday 11.5.2013 Children & Families Story of Mum Family Make Date Saturday 11 May / 12 – 4pm A fun-filled day programmed by Story of Mum duo Pippa and Penny Best. Drop-in and take part in a variety of activities and share a celebratory day with all the family. Become part of the touring exhibition by adding your voice, face or creation! The day includes:
12pm – Puppet stories with London based Baobab puppeteers; Hear the story of Boipusa and the Grumpy Green Giant, take part, play an instrument, participate and make your own puppet. 1pm – Children's snacks will be provided and a free cuppa for adults too. Stay and try out a range of free family activities. 1-3pm – Upstairs: Inspired by Story of Mum's new logo Mini Makers encourages you to make your very own hot air balloon. With artist Emma Wilde on hand to help you, take up the family challenge to design and make your own balloon and help it fly. 2pm – Downstairs: Make a wish for our balloon to lift off and try out our 'Mama Mash-up collage'. Make a book cover for the story of your life! 3pm – Join our photo gallery by taking part in 'I'm a Mum and a…?' Enjoy a free tea and cake. The evening is by invitation only and includes 5 Milton Keynes mums presenting their different views and experiences.
