GRAIN: The Photography Hub & Network for the West Midlands

Posted: 15 Apr 2013 01:31 AM PDT

The Library of Birmingham, supported by Arts Council England and working in collaboration with local, national and international partners is creating a new hub and network for photography in the West Midlands. GRAIN will include research and development projects and a range opportunities all aimed at strengthening and sustaining photography in the region and promote the sector nationally and internationally.

Over the next two years GRAIN will design, develop and manage a programme of seminars, exhibitions, workshops, networking events, portfolio reviews, short courses, academic research and commissions. They aim to maintain and strengthen links to national and international photography festivals and venues. GRAIN will also create opportunities for the wider community to engage in and appreciate photographic projects as audience members and work to expand the market for fine art photography and raise the profile of the West Midlands as an area of photographic excellence.

See the GRAIN website for more information on their current projects.
