Currently we meet at Christ Church (Hall) Stantonbury Campus, weekly Mondays in school term time only 7:30pm to 9:30pm. We celebrate diverse cultures whilst having FUN and promoting social inclusion. Our members come from a wide range of backgrounds and ages (16-70+). Our group provides an invigorating, life-enhansing activity with physical, mental and emotional benefits. We are an open and welcoming group accessable to everyone as there is no need of any previous musical knowledge or ability to read music or even text. For several years we met as an informal group of people who shared a passion for African hand drumming. We formalised the group in 2011 in order to increase our membership and employ occasional tutors to improve our skills. In the past we were a predominatly white female group, our membership has broadened to include young people, men and women from our diverse community. Although an amateur group, we are asked to perform and give workshops at community and charity events. Interrested in having a try/joining us??
