Over the Halloween weekend of 1987 three young brothers embark on an epic quest: to win and bring back to their dying father a replacement for his beloved watch, which came from an amusement arcade in Ballybunnion where all their family holidays together were spent.

Noel (17), Paudie (12) and Scwally (7) steal the local bread van and set off for Ballybunnion. It will be an off-beat and moving journey which - after encounters and adventures that will fortify them for the challenge of their father's impending death - can only lead them home.

All that Heaven Allows (U) ( 1955) 89 mins

Friday 23rd March, 6.30pm

MK Gallery  6.30pm

Director: Douglas Sirk

Selected by current exhibitor Daria Martin
Friday 23 March / 6.30pm / £5 (concessions £3)
Pre-book on 01908 676 900

Jane Wyman is a repressed wealthy widow and Rock Hudson is the hunky Thoreau-following gardener who loves her in Douglas Sirk's heartbreakingly beautiful indictment of 1950s small-town America. Sirk utilises expressionist colours, reflective surfaces, and frames-within-frames to convey the loneliness and isolation of a matriarch trapped by the snobbery of her children and the gossip of her social-climbing country club chums.

All That Heaven Allows: No. 11 best romantic film of all time

Independent Cinema MK and MK Gallery are working in collaboration to create a programme of Friday Night Film screenings selected or curated by artists and connected to MK Gallery current exhibitions.

Milton Keynes Summer of Culture - mini leaflet now available!

Posted: 23 Mar 2012 07:04 AM PDT

Destination Milton Keynes is co-ordinating the marketing for the Milton Keynes Summer of Culture. You will start to see marketing material across the city promoting the event very soon - a mini-leaflet has already been produced and is being circulated as we speak (copy attached)

The Summer of Culture website www.mksummerofculture.co.uk is a section within the current Destination MK website and lists all the events we have so far, with links out to the organisations running them. We will continue to update the website in the run up to and during the summer.

We have also started social media pages for the Summer of Culture:

Ø  Facebook: www.facebook.com/mksummerofculture

Ø  Twitter: @MK_SofC

It would very helpful if your own organisation's websites and social media pages could link to ours and if you could then 'share' or 'RT' messages to help spread the word.

Please feel free to forward this email to any colleagues or other organisations you think might be interested.
