Ten Notts projects compete for prizes

NEARLY 40 projects from across the East Midlands will compete for the most highly respected prize in the UK property industry, the RICS Awards 2012. Nottinghamshire will be well represented at the regional final with ten entries from around the county.

The popularity of the Harry Potter books and films has helped boost visitor numbers to Oxford's Christ Church Cathedral. The 16th Century cathedral and college complex was used as the backdrop for several scenes in the popular film series.

St Chad's Cathedral in <b>Birmingham</b> hopes to woo sponsors

It costs £7000 a week to run St Chad's and its affiliated buildings in Birmingham, of which the cathedral accounts for about a third. Canon Gerry Breen said the debt was growing because they receive only £600 from weekend collections.
