This weekend saw the ever popular TEDx Conferences descend upon Nottingham. TED talks are known for their stimulating dialogue and often serendipitous results; with Nottingham's own being no different.

Two of the Creative Nottingham team, John Sullivan and Chris Allwood attended the event.

TEDx Nottingham comprised of several local speakers, which varied from Lecturers, Teachers, CEO's and well known faces such as Social-Media-Guru Phil Campbell. Although amongst them were both national and international speakers, all speaking under the events theme of "The Hidden Heroes".

The idea behind "Hidden Heroes" was to recognise those that do great deeds though often go un-noticed, which was supported by a strong line-up of selfless servants of society. This resulted in some honest, moving and often frank dialogue which forced spectators to put into perspective their own imprint on the world.

We thoroughly enjoyed the event and really appreciated the wide variety of speakers, their walks of life and the impact on society they have had. The TEDx event, which was hosted at Nottingham University's Business Campus, was on the whole a fantastic success and we would love to see more stimulating events come to Nottingham in the near future.
