| Event posted by Carina Schneider Posted: 03 Feb 2012 07:38 AM PST Event posted by Carina Schneider CPD: JCT 2011 at MADE, Newhall SquareFebruary 23, 2012 from 1:30pm to 5pm The JCT introduced a revised suite of building contracts in September 2011. The changes and their implications for the administration of the payment provisions need to be understood by those involved in the administration of contracts. Generally the new procedure is likely to place an increased burden and risk upon the architect when administering a contract. This seminar will look at the key changes within the Standard Building Contract, the Intermediate Building Contract, the Minor Works Contract and the Design & Build Contract. The differences between the 2005 and 2011 contracts are not high in number, but the key difference is significant i.e. payment. The seminar is suitable for architects, quantity surveyors, building surveyors and generally anyone involved with the administration of the JCT building contracts.Speaker: Michael Dunn LLB LLM FRICS FCIArb, is a Director of Rex Procter & Partners based in Bradford. He is a member of the Society of Construction law and the Adjudication Society. Michael is a visiting lecturer on a number of RIBA Part 3 courses and also at Leeds Metropolitan University on its MSc in Construction Law & Dispute Resolution. In addition, he is a specialist practice consultant for both the RIBA and the Royal Society of Ulster Architects.
