Cannock Chase - Beaudesert Hall (Picture Heavy) Posted: 21 Feb 2012 05:21 AM PST Here's my take on Beaudesert Hall. Approached from Longdon along the fire track so also saw the huntsmens cave and some other nice water features on the way. Nice water feature: Various bits of old buildings along the way: First impressions this looks like a store room, but infact is a drain: And inside: The other end appears under a small jetty off a pond: View from pond side: Nice touch, this site is used by the Scouts, I dont think its original: There are many ponds on site, but only this one still holds water. There are drains and overflows, pretty waterfalls, and about half a dozen ornate ponds spanning down a hillside. In the distance is the small jetty shown above: Another jetty further up: Pretty waterfalls: A little further down the hill is this pond, which is now bone dry, it has this curious weir and drain, which appears to outfall into a large valley in the distance: And a small drain which enters the same pond: Onward bound, up the bank towards the main house ruins now. A store room: And inside: Remains of a building next to the store room: Walking up the path towards the mansion: Continued... |
