A Smaller Picture - David Hockney Exhibition

'A Smaller Picture' - Celebrating Hockneys current return to the Royal Academy of Arts, Primrose Gallery presents an exciting and colourful exhibition, blending past with present, with kind assistance from Salts Mill, Bradford Yorkshire.

 
Items include, sought after signed etchings of Grimms Fairy Tales series.  Rare and original vintage exhibition posters, sketchbooks, a wide variety of prints and books spanning over the artists career.  Many iconic Hockney pieces, including Stanley & Boodge sketches, photography collage posters, and a rare First Day Stamp design and envelope.

ipad Painting Competition

During the Smaller Picture Exhibition, you are invited to create your own ipad painting in the Gallery, using the brushes application Hockney is said to use to create his paintings. The painting you create can be entered into our competition with the chance to win an ipad AND a chance to have your painting exhibited in Primrose Gallery.
Paintings will be uploaded onto our digital photo frame for viewing alongside the exhibition, and images will be uploaded onto our Primrose Gallery Facebook Page for Facebook followers to vote for.The painting with the most votes each week will win a high quality print of their work, and we will display each weeks winner on this website and also on Twitter.
Each week end winner from the five weeks will then be judged to create the overall winner at the end of our Hockney exhibition on March 31st 2012. 1st Prize ~ the ipad used to create the paintings, and also the winning work will be displayed in our Gallery. Prizes for 2nd and 3rd place are Hockney inspired.
