Company MK is back!!

Posted: 09 Feb 2012 02:19 AM PST

Company MK is 20 years old this year! In 1992, a group of intrepid performers set up a theatre group to perform some more unusual and daring musicals, starting with Company by Stephen Sondheim. And that's what Company MK has done ever since, putting on shows as varied as City of Angels and Guys and Dolls. Production values have been high, and feedback from the audience always glowing.

Unfortunately, over the past few years, the company has fallen on hard times, and for the past two years, we haven't been able to fund a new show. However, to celebrate the 20th anniversary, we're launching a project to get Company MK back on its feet. In October, we aim to produce an anniversary concert show at the Chrysalis Theatre. To get to that point, we need all the help we can to raise funds and produce the show.

And that's where you come in! We'd love as many people as possible to come on board to get the word out that Company MK is back in business!

We're having a meeting on Sunday 19 February at 7.30 at the Ridgeway Centre, Featherstone Road , Wolverton Mill South, MK12 5TH. There, we'll go through the plans as they stand and you'll get the chance to engage with the areas that most interes you! Please do come along and get involved, there's so much to do and we can't do it without you :)

Hope to see you on 19 February!

Sensorium Tests Published Today

Posted: 08 Feb 2012 06:29 AM PST

We've just received our first copies of Sensorium Tests, a new publication to accompany Daria Martin's current exhibition at MK Gallery.

The publication centres on a 16 mm film, Sensorium Tests, which emerged from artist Daria Martin's research into 'mirror-touch synaesthesia'. People with this condition experience a physical sense of touch on their own bodies when they see other people, or sometimes even objects, being touched. The publication questions how sensations might be shared between objects and people.

This fully illustrated publication is available to buy online or in our gallery shop, priced £19.
