Pushwagner: Coming to MK Gallery this June

17 May 2012

Today is Norway's biggest day of national celebration, as Norwegians commemorate the signing of the country's first constitution in 1814. We're now only six weeks away from the launch of Norwegian artist Hariton Pushwagner's visually stunning new exhibition Soft City, at MK Gallery from 28 June - 2 September 2012.

The exhibition will focus on his early works, including his defining creation, the graphic novel Soft City, an epic satire of capitalism and life in the modern metropolis. Other works include intricate and obsessively detailed paintings and visually stunning silkscreen prints, presenting a personal mythology of a world under perpetual siege from pollution, totalitarianism and mass destruction.

The exhibition will be complemented by an exciting Norwegian season of events, including video, music and performances by Norwegian artists and curators.

FREE entry to over 100 indoor stalls with thousands of original handmade and vintage items.

26-27 May is the much anticipated return of this exciting event, which sees Middleton Hall transformed for two days into a treasure trove of more than 100 indoor stalls selling thousands of items you won't find in the shops.

It's quite a spectacle and the largest, most exciting event of its kind in the region, with a rapidly growing reputation, saving locals a trip to Camden or Brighton.

You'll find fashions, homewares, accessories, furnishings, china, gifts, furniture, collectables, home baking, the cool and quirky - in fact you never know what you'll find but few people leave empty-handed.

For those who like an individual style and the thrill of the bargain hunt, it is the only place to shop.

Organiser, Jacqui Lewis : "We have an abundance of very talented designer-makers and interesting vintage sellers in our area, and we showcase an ever changing selection of the best at these events.  Each stall is selected for originality, quality and affordable prices, and we have a very exciting line-up of stalls for May."

Here you can buy local, buy British - and buy at the best possible prices.

Open 9am to 7pm on Saturday 26th, and 10:30am to 5pm on Sunday 27th May.
