Artistic Director – Pentabus Theatre Posted: 17 Oct 2011 02:23 AM PDT Artistic Director Pentabus believes in asking questions and telling stories that resonate with audiences locally, nationally and internationally. At the heart of our work is our rural location, which affords us a unique perspective on and relationship to the world. Our mission is to create theatre which is provocative and surprising, which engages audiences through its high quality, variety of form and scale of ambition. We are interested in recruiting leadership to maintain the high reputation of our artistic quality. We seek too to continue to deepen our engagement with local rural communities and indeed all those that can be affected by the power of our productions. In the past 8 years we have co-produced with The Royal Court Theatre, premiered new work at the Dublin International Festival and been shortlisted for a South Bank Show Award. We have performed 200 ft underground and staged a show in one of Europe's biggest shopping malls. Our latest production FOR ONCE at Hampstead Theatre Studio achieved a raft of 4 star reviews across the national press. We have established a strong development process for playwrights, resulting in commissions inspired by the rural location and its myriad subjects. Our work is often inspired by our location in one of the most beautiful parts of the country and is always a product of our commitment to collaborating with artists, venues and organisations that inspire us. The company has a well-resourced base near Ludlow in Shropshire and is an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation. Visit our website www.pentabus.co.uk for further info and application downloads
