Bread and Circus – Another Great Improv Jam Posted: 16 Nov 2012 01:01 AM PST Improv meets Tombola – The ultimate DIY Improv night from Box of Frogs… Bread and Circus is back on Wednesday 21st November for another great night of Improv DIY fun. Come along, bring a friend. Put your name in the hat if you're feeling brave, and when it gets drawn it's your turn on stage! Games, scenes, sketches, you choose. Completely free, and open to all levels of experience, including none. Upstairs at the Patrick Kavanagh pub in Moseley. With the Theatre world moving fast in our region, Theatre Exchange does what it says on the tin. It's a stop off point for anyone involved in Theatre in the area to meet up and exchange – and it doesn't cost anything! Things you may want to Exchange · You may want to exchange ideas with those working in the industry and see what they're doing in the region…..let others know how you make Birmingham your theatrical home. · If you live in the Theatre cyber-world this could simply be a chance to put a face to the name. 3D Facebook! · If you're a writer, actor or director you may want to share your script or ideas or take part in the rehearsed readings. So on Monday 19th November at 7.30pm we will have the first Theatre Exchange in the Club Room at the back of the bar in The Old Joint Stock. We'll begin with a chance for people to spread the word about what they're up to and we'll finish with a networking evening which sprawls into the evening. Sandwiched in the middle at 8pm will be some short scratch performances of new writing. Speaking of which, we're looking for Actors,Writers and Directors! From 5.30pm we will be providing space for scripts to be rehearsed prior to scratch performances as part of Theatre Exchange. The chosen applicants will work together in those 2 hours to put on a scratch performance to show at the evening event. GAZEBO SEEKING YOUNG MALE ACTOR Posted: 16 Nov 2012 12:55 AM PST Gazebo are currently auditioning for a role within our site specific Safe Night Out project 2012. We are seeking a young male actor, playing age 17-23,- a very strong naturalistic and hard working professional actor. Character is charming, attractive and able to hold his own in a confrontational situation. The project involves delivery of issue based scenarios within a night club setting, and delivery of follow up discussion with young people. Rehearsal dates are 3rd-7th December 9.30am-5 pm with performances from Monday 10th-Friday 14th December, approx 8am-4.30pm. They've put out a call for proposals (see below) for people to request week long slots in the space. The space is in Nottingham, so obviously people will need to be able to travel to or stay in Nottingham, but thought it was worth distributing to you all in case you know of any practitioners who might be interested in this. If so, please forward onto them. New Perspectives – Lab Weeks Call For Proposals New Perspectives Theatre Company would like to hear from theatre makers, writers, directors or companies with a project they would like to develop over an exploratory week. The artist or company will receive one week (Monday to Friday 10am -6pm) of free rehearsal space at the New Perspectives building in Nottingham. We welcome proposals both for the creation of new work or the exploration/development of existing work. There will be an opportunity to showcase your discoveries at the end of the week to New Perspectives staff and a small invited audience, should you wish to. The space is available for a select number of weeks from January 2013 to March 2013 and is suitable for medium to small scale work.
