Mr X Stitch introduces Craftivist Collective's Jigsaw Project

3 January / 6.30pm / Free

Join Milton Keynes' very own Mr X Stitch (aka Jamie Chalmers) for an evening of stitching with a purpose. Take part in Craftivist Collective's Jigsaw Project and create embroidered puzzle pieces with provocative messages in support of Save The Children's Race Against Hunger Campaign.

Next year, the G8 summit will be held in the UK, which means our Government is in a prime position to put world hunger at the top of the agenda. The Jigsaw Project aims to raise awareness and show that the craft community thinks these issues are important.

Jamie will be speaking about his trip to Indonesia with Save The Children and the rest of the project team - Craftivist Collective founder Sarah Corbett, who will also be there on the night, graffiti knitter Lauren O'Farrell, and Craft Blog UK's Hilary Pullen.

Craftivist Collective was set up in 2009 with the aim of tackling poverty and injustice through non-violent creative action. This type of "slow activism" allows you to stop and reflect on important issues, changing yourself as well as the world. Could trying your hand at craftivism be your New Year's Resolution?

Visit http://imapiece.craftivist-collective.com for more project information, and www.savethechildren.org.uk/craftivist to sign Save The Children's online petition.
