 Lost & Found

Call for Artists

February 2013

Lost & Found, the gallery’s Young Person’s Project is back, and is on look out for exciting artists that would like to create a temporary, site-specific work to be exhibited in MK Gallery’s Project Space during the month of February 2013.

Working with a brand new Lost & Found Committee, the artists practice should be relevant, accessible and appropriate for collaboration with a group of 15 – 24 year olds.

The chosen artist will be expected to submit an exhibition proposal following a two day consultation with the group. This proposal should include scope for the month-long exhibition, details of how the space will be presented and the rationale behind the work. Lost & Found will respond to the proposal with a series of related events

A set project fee of £1,000 is in place to cover consultation workshops, meetings and the conception and realisation of the work.  Material costs will be agreed in consultation with Lost & Found.

Expressions of interest should be submitted to vmayes@mkgallery.org no later than 5pm, 17 December 2012 and include:  Artists Information; Contact details; CV; exhibitions history; images of recent work; website details.

Critics\' opinion

  • \'The adaptation of the literary work is remarkable, Paquet-Brenner`s directing is incredibly sharp, Kristin Scott Thomas` character is very moving (…) The director succeeds in perfectly mixing the two narrative structures, the two stories that take place in different periods of time, which captivates the viewer. From the streets of Paris to the countryside in Loiret, from New York to the hospital ward, the viewer is invited to watch quite out the destinies of the two women, that are separated by more than a half a century… and to be struck by the strength of the echoes between past and present.\' (Mathieu Payan, Abus de Ciné)
