| Artist Development: Residency opportunity at The New Art Gallery Walsall Posted: 02 Oct 2012 02:42 AM PDT
The New Art Gallery Walsall is offering a 6-week practical studio residency opportunity from 12 November to 22 December 2012, for an artist or artist collective working in any medium. The selected artist(s) will have exclusive access to the Gallery's studio space. The outcome of the residency will be self-determined, allowing room for experimentation and/or the development of a new or existing project. Artists are also invited to respond to the architecture of the Gallery and its collections. The resident artist(s) will have an introduction to Gallery staff and will receive curatorial input and support. Other resources include access to the Gallery's art library and archive, and to a permanent collection of historical, modern and contemporary art.
Budget: £1500 artist fee Up to £250 for travel and materials
Deadline: 9am, 29 October 2012 Residency announced: 5 November 2012

AirSpace gallery are organising a FREE mini-bus to go to the Turning Point West Midlands Visual Arts Forum from AirSpace gallery, Stoke-on-Trent - (19 October 12 - departing at 11.30am) going to Wolverhampton Art Gallery. 12 places are available - email Anna Francis at amf@airspacegallery.org to reserve a seat. Anna says: 'This will be a really interesting event - and a good chance to meet other artists and groups from the West Midlands.'
