Someone we hear talking – but whom we do not see – speaks of a project which describes the four key moments of love: meeting, physical passion, arguments and separation, making up. This is told through three couples. Young, adult and old. We do not know if the project is for a play, a film, a novel or an opera. The author of the project is always accompanied by a kind of servant.

Mother Courage & Her Children

Mother Courage And Her Children
By Bertolt Brecht
Blackeyed Theatre, in association South Hill Park
Monday 15th - Tuesday 16th October - 7.30pm
Translated by Lee Hall Directed by Tom Neill

They're waging war for Almighty God and in the name of everything that's good and lovely, but look closer, they ain't so silly - Mother Courage

Two ideologies collide in a conflict that stretches across a continent and threatens the balance of world power. In its midst, one woman, her three children by her side, sees an opportunity to survive, a way to profit from the slaughter by selling goods to both sides. And the time is about to come when, in her quest for material gain, she must make the ultimate sacrifice.

Regarded by many as the greatest play of the 20th century and even the greatest anti-war play of all time, Mother Courage And Her Children asks fundamental questions about the effects our beliefs have on the world and the role of ideology in society and world affairs. Lee Hall's (The Pitmen Painters, War Horse screenplay) brilliant translation of Brecht's masterpiece is accessible, bang up to date and full of dark comedy.

Suitable for age 13+

Tickets £14.00, Concessions £12.50, Schools £10.50

Calling All Creative Cyclists!

Calling All Creative Cyclists!

The Big Draw is the world's biggest celebration of drawing and has grown into a month-long festival throughout October all over the UK. Every year more people across the world join Big Draw events and engage in creative activities.

Which is why for the whole of October we want you all to get involved! We are calling all cyclists who either love to draw, or fancy getting back into it.

To celebrate and support the Big Draw, Cycle Your Heart Out are encouraging everyone to pick up their bike, cycle a heart-shaped route and draw their favourite picture along the way. You can draw it by hopping off your bike, or by taking a photo and drawing it later, whatever works easier for you!

To help get you started we have made the Milton Keynes & London heart-routes available for you to download and try out yourself! Recent round the world cyclist Sean Conway has even joined us on one of the routes.
