Bond, considered by some to be the Shakespeare of our times, is celebrating fifty years as a major and controversial British playwright. This evening, however, is dedicated to highlighting his lesser known, but no less substantial, contribution to poetry. As with his plays, Bond uses his poems to explore one burning, central question: "What does it mean to be human?" Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3.50 for concessions. The event is produced as part of Bond @50, a year of special performances, projects and events to celebrate Edward Bond's remarkable fifty year contribution to British and World theatre.
