Volunteer Calligrapher/ illustrator needed

Milton Keynes Hospital is looking for a calligrapher / illustrator to create hand drawn entries on a voluntary basis for the chapel’s memorial books.Parents of babies or children who have died are asked if they would like to make an entry in the memorial book. Entries may vary according to the parents’ wishes, but may include the baby or child’s name, dates, a few words from the parents and an illustration. The memorials are entered into the book by hand, in calligraphy. Anyone who is interested should contact Sharon Paulger at MK Arts for Health on 01908243284 or sharon.paulger@mkhospital.nhs.ukfor more information.

 Xscape presents the Blow Out Skate Park, which will be open daily from 12-8pm on the front piazza at Xscape from 6th – 26th August 2012.

The park includes quarter pipes, ramps, spines, driveways, flatbanks and a half pipe (6th – 12th August only) and the park will have scheduled events for skateboarders, BMX riders and scooters. There's also a dedicated beginners area with a coach so if you've never skated before you can learn how the pros do it. There’ll also be spot prizes, special events and more!

Come along and take part in a hands-on session making puppets in all different shapes and sizes. Shape and style them using paper, card, collage and various other materials, then take control of your creations as you become the puppet master.

A musical fable of Broadway based on a story and characters of Damon Runyon

This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Ltd. on behalf of music theatre international of New York.

Milton Keynes Theatre is thrilled to announce it will once again be producing Stage Experience - the unmissable opportunity for 150 talented local young performers to take to the stage, this year with the Broadway hit Guys and Dolls. Led by our team of industry professionals and theatre Orchestra, our performers will have two weeks of intensive tuition and rehearsal culminating in four fully staged performances on the MKT stage.

Join others for a fantastic bike ride through Milton Keynes where everyone's invited.

It's a great opportunity to experience some of Milton Keynes highlights in a very special atmosphere. The route will take in the best of MK's most impressive landmarks and green spaces.

There’s no official start point or start time, and you can ride as much or as little of the route as you like, and stop as many times as you want. Most people join in at one of the activation points along the route, where you’ll also find plenty of fun things to do whether you’re on a bike or not.

By taking part in a Sky Ride City event this year you could win some fantastic prizes such as



  • An amazing cycling experience with Sir Chris Hoy at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester
