As always, there's lots happening in Nottingham over the next few weeks. Here are just a few things going on:

Model Me at Nottingham Contemporary – Inspired by the Francis Upritchard exhibition currently running at the gallery, Model Me is your opportunity to be part of a new model army. Literally. Make a model of yourself from all sorts of materials, and then photograph yourself (and your model) in the special photo booth.

Nottingham's Caribbean Carnival is still taking place today. If you head down to Forest Recreation Ground, there's a funfair, workshops, music and food with a Caribbean flavour. And if you're down there at 4.30 this afternoon, you'll see the arrival of the Big Parade. This starts at 2pm at Castle Gate and makes its way through the city over the next couple of hours. The event ends at 9pm tonight.

A new production based around last summer's riots comes to Nottingham Arts Theatre in October. Written, directed and performed entirely by Nottingham students, LOUDER is the "first young people's dramatic response" to the events that rocked Britain last August. It's on on Saturday 6th October for two performances only. Tickets are available from Nottingham Arts Theatre's website and cost £5.

Feeling crafty? Hobbycraft Nottingham is holding a craft event at their store on Lady Bay Retail Park on Meadow Lane on 23rd August. 9 crafty folks will be showcasing their talents, including cake decorating, wedding stationery making and felt jewellery making. It's a great opportunity to learn from some of Nottingham's best craft-workers.
