New Initiative: Art Off The Beaten Track In Powys And The Cambrian Region

Posted: 04 May 2012 10:56 AM PDT

A new initiative by two local artists and gallery owners will offer visitors access to exciting hidden gems across Powys and the Cambrian Region.

Powys based artist Julia Harris and Gallery/Craft Centre owner Bernice Benton are working together to develop a selection of trails to take the visitor off the beaten track and find locally produced arts and crafts in unexpected places.

Their new business, Art-Off the Beaten Track, is launching its first trail in June. Each trail will take the visitor on a scenic circular drive within Powys and the Cambrian Region and lead them to a selection of arts treasures in remote places. At each location there will be not only a local art or craft, but also a short circular walk, a recommendation of somewhere to eat and a bit of local history.
