Shibori Silk Scarves - Artworks-MK, Gt. Linford

Posted: 23 Apr 2012 07:39 AM PDT

Create a unique, beautiful scarf in rich glowing colours. We will be using a technique called Shibori, first looking at different ways of folding, binding, twisting and gathering the fabric. When the dye is applied this produces an intricate pattern. You can then choose your favourite method to recreate the pattern in your chosen colours on a silk scarf.

This absorbing workshop will take place with Eleanor Sidaway at Artworks-MK in the beautiful setting of Great Linford Manor, on the 28 April between 10 am and 4pm. Cost £54

Enamelling Workshop - Artworks-MK, Great Linford

Posted: 23 Apr 2012 07:36 AM PDT

Enamelling is an ancient technique used to create surface decoration. Enamel is placed onto a piece of copper and then heated in a small kiln. The results are amazing as the colours run and fuse into each-other, making each piece totally unique. Finished work can be combined with other pieces or findings to create items of jewellery.

This fascinating workshop takes place with Clare Layton between 10 am and 4pm on the 28 April. Cost £46.
