Creative Advertising student spills the beans...

Posted: 27 Apr 2012 02:57 AM PDT

A current student on BA (Hons) Creative Advertising has felt the need to tell everyone on Hotcourses.com how good Creative Advertising at Lincoln really is.  Here is his comment:-

"I'm studying CA now and i love it, i can also tell you that pretty much everyone in my year, all the people i know in second year and third year think the same. It is challenging, interesting and each brief that we are given takes you on a completely new learning curve. in the first year you don't exactly do advertising but it prepares you with the important skills you need to be great in the field, rather than someone who just knows a lot about advertising. Lincoln itself is a lovely place to study, its easy to concentrate and the library is within walking distance of every student accommodation. Best advertising course around, but extremely challenging".

You can read all the best bits about this course on their blog, which is regularly updated.  The above image was taken of 3 current students during their week at London ad agency Inferno.

Fashion graduate tells David Cameron how important it is for companies to provide internships

Recent Fashion Studies graduate, Charlotte Bryan is shown here when she met with Prime Minister recently as he visited the David Nieper Fashion design studios and factory in Alfreton, Derbyshire, following the launch of his party's local election campaign.  The 50 year old family clothing business was one of the settings for the filming of his party political broadcast, which aired last week on BBC1 and ITV1.

Charlotte joined the company full time after winning a David Nieper Fashion Academy competition which included a paid internship as part of the prize.

Charlotte said "The Prime Minister asked for my views on what it's like for graduates looking for jobs and what more could be done to help young people and graduates into work".  She goes on to explain that "it really is hard and many of my friends are struggling to get work especially if they haven't got experience in a real-life working environment.  It would be great if more could be done to support and encourage more companies like David Nieper to open their doors to graduates and young people to provide training and internships".

Christopher Nieper, MD at David Nieper, concludes "we welcomed the Prime Minister's visit, his interest and pledge to support British fashion manufacturing and to get the textiles trade back in the UK.  Our company and 200+ staff is very much proof that fashion can and is being made in the UK".

David Nieper is a designer and manufacturer of lingerie, nightwear and clothing for women, all made in the UK.  Based in Alfreton, Derbyshire, the fashion house was founded in 1961 and is renowned for its use of the highest quality fabrics and the personal touch it achieves in delivering world-class customer service.
