Tutu-tastic!

Posted: 17 Apr 2012 04:24 AM PDT

If you look closely at my house you'll spot a lot of homemade stuff – quilts, blankets, jumpers, felt cakes… (don't ask) So you don't need to convert me to how brilliant making something yourself is. But for anyone who might like to try but don't know where to start, then Nottingham Trent University have just the thing for you this summer.

Subjects include painting, pattern cutting and portrait photography. You can experiment with screenprinting for fine art or textiles. Or maybe try architectural model making, for the enthusiastic beginner or the serious practitioner. And most excitingly of all (to me anyway) there is even a course in tutu making!

Most of the courses are aimed at adults but there are some courses aimed at 16-18 year olds. So if you fancy trying for art school you can get a taster here. Fashion, film-making, photography, graphics, textiles, fine art and interior design are all available as one-week intensive courses this summer, taught by people who really understand the college application process and what makes a good portfolio.

Class sizes are limited so get in there quick! And if you book your summer school course before 31st May you can take advantage of a 10% discount.

And save me a space on the tutu making course… *hums Swan Lake and pirouettes*
