| Scribal Gathering Open Mic Music and Poetry Posted: 05 Apr 2012 04:56 AM PDT ![]() Scribal Gathering will be resurrected at The Bull Hotel on Tuesday 10 April for another moveable feast of music, poetry, spoken word and song Easter reminds us to look to the East and remember Eos, or Eostre, ancient goddess of the dawn, bringer of light and new beginnings, her rhododactylic rosy fingers beckoning us to celebrate in a festival of creativity and revelry, venerating the noble hares, newborn chicks and fresh shoots sprung anew that represent the revitalised earth mother donning her green gown as she prepares to furnish her children with her fertility, which we revere through the over-indulgence of chocolate and complaining about the environmental consequences of excessive non-compostable packaging, an' that. As if this isn't enough to entertain and inspire, our special guest headline performers this month are: the vocal half of the Antipoet - promoter, performer, playwright and poet - Paul Eccentric, and the distinctive and distinguished local musical combo and symbol of task-accomplishment, The Box Ticked. Plus we have the open-minded, open-mouthed, open-door policy open mic, welcoming performers of any style, genre or level of startling ineptitude to share their wares, show their stuff, shine before their peers and shout at the passing crowd. Join us. Where: The Bull Hotel, High Street Stony Stratford MK11 1AQ. But first, pop into the Cock and say 'Isn't Scribal Gathering on here any more?' When: Tuesday 10th April 2012. Doors open 7.30 for 8.00 start. Bar closes 11.00pm. How: Sign up for open mic on the night. Arrive early, stay late. |
