Outside the Village Hall.

At St Anne's Church.

William Bowyer

Edwin and Allen Turner

Private George Nixon who isn't listed on either of Brown Edge's WWI memorials. No direct link with the village?

This photograph is hanging on a wall inside the Village Hall. It looks like it was taken during WWI but there are two women in the photo - nurses? Some of the men are in casual poses so perhaps it was taken at a sanitorium for wounded soldiers somewhere in the Brown Edge area?

Forgive me if this is in the wrong area but my aim isn't so straight after a session in the Pub.

A quaint homely little pub, next to the station in Washington DC.

The inside of the Pub/Brewery. The bar is an island and has a staff of three, with no waiting, even when the the place is heaving. Four of us sat down to eat there and were asked for ID, our ages ranged from 69 to 75. The reason, "Sir, it's the law you're on federal property, ya hear" The guy/table captain was Nigerian, arrived in the States five years ago,not speaking a word of English, and was waiting for his American Citizenship papers. He was so proud, you'd have to drag him kicking and screaming back to Nigeria.
Yanks, I love them.

Witherspoons were slow to convert this one. Originally the home of the American Postal Service in Washington and next door to Central Station. Forget the story about American beer being tastless, frozen, weak as Gnat's P***, it ain't.
