The Night Queen Returns to The Belgrade Theatre

Posted: 04 Jan 2013 04:07 AM PST

The Night Queen returns! Hoopla are bringing their hit show back to the Belgrade Theatre Coventry for a limited run only.

The Night Queen is an exciting and enchanting music theatre play for 6-12 year olds inspired by Mozart's The Magic Flute. The story of a young girl who goes out to meet the mysterious Night Queen and face the challenges of a forest quest, this highly-acclaimed, uplifting and entertaining tale is ideal for young people and their families.
Reworked by director Sue Wilson with Jenny Stephens and with an exciting new cast for Pamina and The Night Queen and our old friend Dan as the Dad (and the Owl and the Dragon…!) this will be a very memorable production.
The Night Queen is a must see for children who enjoy a good story, and those of us who still believe inmagic. British Theatre Guide

Theatre Designer, Teasel Theatre Company

Posted: 04 Jan 2013 04:04 AM PST

Closing Date: Saturday 5th January 2013

Teasel Theatre Company is looking to meet designers for a forthcoming two-week research and development period in Birmingham. "Dreams To Her Father" is a devised piece based on the true story of a psychiatrist whose daughter dies after giving him a book of her dreams, and which explores big ideas about dreaming and the dark history of psychiatry in 1930s Germany.

The work will take place between 28/1/13 and 8/2/13 at Midlands Arts Centre and is funded by Arts Council England with support from MAC and partnership from Ferment at Bristol Old Vic Theatre.

We're aiming to work collaboratively, with members of the creative team attending some rehearsals to exchange ideas with devisers as well as meeting ahead of rehearsals. The fee is £410, based on the company weekly wage, so the position might suit a recent graduate and/or someone with a base in the West Midlands. There is also a small production budget for realising some of the design ideas in a showing of work in progress at MAC. It is intended that this stage of r & d will lead to a full production later in 2013.

More information about Teasel and our work is available at http://www.teaseltheatre.co.uk and anyone interested in applying should email ed@teaseltheatre.co.uk with a CV and a covering letter telling us a little about themselves and their work.
