Posted: 01 Jan 2012 09:50 PM PST I think this used to be Evered & co brassworks as discussed here- http://www.midlandsheritage.co.uk/31114-post2.html on here- http://www.midlandsheritage.co.uk/in...smethwick.html total and utter dereliction and abandonment, I do however seem to recall that some of it was in use when I was mooching around there some eighteen months ago now.. :) |
Posted: 01 Jan 2012 12:46 PM PST Theres been a few reports on other forums of Corah, and i finally got to see the place myself, seems strange i always go to far afield sites then dont go to places almost on my doorstep  Hopefully i have a few new photos as its a huge site. Apologies the photos arent great, my usual camera has died and need to save for another one :blush2: Founded by Nathaniel Corah who died in 1832, the business was carried on and grown by his sons. The St Margarets site opened on 13th July 1865 and by 1866 over 1000 people were employed at the works |

Posted: 01 Jan 2012 07:06 AM PST The previous and newly opened fire stations in Knuton Lane, Newcastle-under-Lyme - think I prefer the old one! .......oops, photobucket on the blink!!! |
Sharma and Saki textiles Ltd, Smethwick Posted: 01 Jan 2012 06:21 AM PST Another one off the industrial estate.. extremely low light + high ISO + handheld = something that not even IS can save :( and finally.. :) |
Posted: 01 Jan 2012 04:59 AM PST I think that's what it was called anyway... (part of the industrial estate I've mentioned before which I've decided to split up a little) I'm guessing that this would have been the offices for whatever was the original factory on the site before it was all split up, of course I may be wrong.. :) |
