| Eric Hattan: New Public Artwork for Campbell Park Posted: 28 Feb 2013 10:48 AM PST New Public Artwork for Campbell ParkTo sound sheep or: as sound as a bell (2013) Commissioned by MK Gallery in collaboration with The Parks Trust, Milton Keynes MK Gallery's current exhibitor, Swiss artist Eric Hattan, has made a new public artwork for Campbell Park. To sound sheep or: as sound as a bell (2013), is an installation of 49 bells with a collar, attached to a tree branch. Bells like this are usually worn by sheep in the Swiss mountains. It is hoped that another set of 49 bells might hang around the sheep that live in the Park from around November to May every year. The tree with the bells is half way along the path at the bottom of the Belvedere, the grassed promontory at the western end of Campbell Park. This path runs from Huntley Crescent, off Avebury Boulevard, towards the Skeldon roundabout at Silbury Boulevard. Eric Hattan's videos, installations and performances are responsive to his surroundings, selecting and rearranging everyday items and finding beauty and humour in them. Further examples of Hattan's work can be seen in the exhibition Eric Hattan Silvia Bachli: What About Sunday?, which continues at MK Gallery until 31 March 2013.
