FESTIVAL OF CHRISTMAS

Talented Students in Mansion Take Over

We’ve put in a special request for Santa to come and he’s promised to do his best at a busy time … Bletchley Park and West Bletchley Council have teamed up with MK College to host the best-ever Festival of Christmas on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December 2012.

Students from MK College, next door to the Home of the Codebreakers, will demonstrate their skills from cooking to manicures and visitors can watch, sample or even join in as they showcase their skills in The MK College Mansion Take Over. Last year’s event was a huge success and this year’s is set to be even bigger and better.

As well as tasty treats including burgers, jacket potatoes and roasted chestnuts, there will be an outdoor Christmas Market where visitors can browse and buy gifts such as handbags, sweets and jewellery.

Gennaro Corrado, West Bletchley’s Culture and Events Co-ordinator, says “We are all very excited. Talented people combined to crack the codes during the war at this historic venue and again we will be showcasing fantastic talents at the same location, this time for a great festive event.”

Entry is free with a voucher, which will be in the MK News on 28th November & 5th December. Parking for this event will be at MK College, not on the Bletchley Park site.

The Big Dance Christmas Cracker

Posted: 04 Dec 2012 08:59 AM PST

Dance, sports and fitness clubs throughout the country are being asked to get involved in a fundraising extravaganza by making their last class before Christmas a special one.

The Big Dance Christmas Cracker is an opportunity for club members to attend the last class before Christmas in their best festive attire and fancy dress, whilst making a small donation of £2 for a children’s charity.

It could be anything from a pair of antlers, pointy elf-ears, Mrs Claus or a full on Santa costume - anything to give your class an extra merry vibe!

All money raised will benefit The Children’s Trust; a national charity which provides care, education and therapy to some of the UK’s most severely disabled children, as well as a rehabilitation service for children who have a an acquired brain injury.

Clubs or instructors who would like to get involved can apply for a fundraising pack, which will provide all materials needed to make the Big Dance Christmas Cracker go with a swing!

To find out more, visit
www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk and type Big Dance Christmas Cracker in the search box or call Hannah on 01737 365 017.
