Our Short Fiction Competition is open for entries! Posted: 06 Dec 2012 07:05 AM PST The Writing West Midlands' Short Fiction Competition (previously the Birmingham Book Festival Short Story Competition) is open for entries! Try your hand at writing a piece of short fiction under 1800 words long, on the theme of 'Travel'. The deadline for entering is the 31 January 2013 and the overall winner will receive £100, a writing workshop of choice (full programme will follow later) and a pair of free tickets to one of our events; £50 and a pair of free tickets to one of our events is awarded to the second prize winner; and two runners up will receive free tickets to one of our events. Each prize winner will also read their piece of short fiction at a celebratory reception.
