PRESS RELEASE

I run a community theatre group, made up of ex staff and students from local Hertfordshire schools - CLICK (www.clickproductions.co.uk). Our key premise is that we believe the arts should be accessible to all and as such, for all our productions we do not charge membership, nor playing fees, nor require previous experience. Because the production team include trained teachers we are able to nurture performance confidence and presentation to produce high quality shows. This year we are producing "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" at The Chrysalis Theatre, Milton Keynes.

We have a good reputation in community work (we raise awareness of charities through our shows - as well as run voluntary workshops for local charities), and have won the Hastings Mayoral Award, the Gateway Award and the Witney and District Mencap Award. We also have a strong track record of productions, our production of "The Full Monty" was attended by Alan Duncan MP, and we worked with The Romero Trust to produce the London Premier of original musical "Romero" for the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the assassination of human rights activist Oscar Romero.

We are delighted that Cllr White (Deputy Mayor of Milton Keynes) will be attending "Beauty and the Beast" in December, and would very much like to invite a photographer and reviewer to attend on the 14th as well. It will be an exciting production - and although we are a community group, this year we have the actor who was 1st Cover Gary Coleman in the Avenue Q Tour playing Gaston performing with us, and the rest of the cast is highly experienced having performed at the Edinburgh Fringe and similar semi-professional venues. After each production we are holding a cast "Meet and Greet" so that the children in attendance may meet their favourite Disney Characters.

ABOUT THE SHOW

CLICK will transport you to life in a pretty, provincial French town. When inventor Maurice becomes lost on his way to the fair, he seeks shelter in an old castle and is taken captive by its master - a horrible Beast. His daughter, Belle, selflessly gives up her freedom to save his life. Along with the castle's enchanted objects, stuffy head of the household - Cogsworth, fun-loving Maitre'd - Lumiere, and the kindly Mrs Potts, follow Belle's story as she defeats the villainous Gaston, and tames the Beast. With the famous Disney songs, including 'Be Our Guest', 'Beauty and the Beast' and many more Tony Award-winning numbers written specially for the musical, you'll be charmed by this unforgettable Disney classic, live on stage this Christmas.

Music by Alan Menken, Lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. Book by Linda Woolverton. Originally directed by Robert Jess Roth. Originally produced by Disney Theatrical Productions.

This amateur production is given by permission of Josef Weinberger LTD on behalf of Music Theatre International, New York.

Further, my theatre group are involved in a (voluntary) Cultural Arts Exchange in Malaysia this December. We are performing "Fawlty Towers" by John Cleese and Connie Booth. We will also be running voluntary workshops with the local community in Penang - with the aim of community integration.
