Hendre Calcite mine

A small calcite mine Last worked 1981.

Being a north Wales lad I like mines. I was visiting a few so me and a friend went for a mooch to a place where i broke my mine cherry a couple oy years ago. Since then the water level has gone down alot! So me and a friend went for a mooch to see if The 1st photo definetly say yes.





Water Trough, Ivy House, SoT

Originally positioned near to the Ivy House Toll Gate on the outskirts of Hanley, this trough was presented by G. Wedgwood in 1879 "To Man and Beast All Akin".


It provided water for horses in the main trough with dogs beneath





and for man at the side.
