The Bardic Council of Stony Stratford is gathering...

The Bard of Stony Stratford is an official civic position, recognised by the Town Council, to represent creativity, culture and community in the town. The current Bard, Danni Antagonist, has made a fantastic contribution to the role, writing and performing bespoke verses to mark significant community events such as the opening of the Community Orchard and the unveiling of the new library sign. You can read the Bardic Blog at www.aboutmyarea.com/mk11.

Each year a new Bard is elected by public vote. This takes place during StonyWords, and the newly elected Bard will hold the position for a year and a day. Anyone can compete for the coveted role of Bard - we welcome writers, wordsmiths, lyricists, poets, public speakers, spoken word performers, stand-ups and ranters - anyone who has a voice, or a pen, and knows how to use it. The next Bardic Trials will be held on Tuesday 22nd January. More information to follow. Expressions of interest welcome. Join us...
