| Rough Justice starring Tom Conti @ MK Theatre Posted: 11 Sep 2012 09:03 AM PDT ![]() Rough JusticeMon 17th September 2012 - Sat 22nd September 2012 Location:Milton Keynes Theatre | Contact:0844 8717652 | Starring Tom Conti By Terence Frisby The author of the triumphant comedy There’s a Girl in My Soup brings us a very different treat - a murder story, a courtroom drama, a suspenseful thriller. Television journalist James Highwood has made his career out of challenging the British Justice system in his documentary programmes. Now, suddenly, it is him who is challenged when he is brought to court on a charge of murder. Highwood admits the killing but perversely chooses to defend himself, pushing the tolerance of the court to its limits and framing his defence in terms calculated to incense the judge. Tom Conti is brilliantly suited to the part of James Highwood in this gripping courtroom drama. With more than its share of surprising twists and turns, it will keep you guessing until the very end - not to be missed! Book your tickets here | |||||||

| The Simon Hopper Band @ the Song Loft - 21st Sept Posted: 11 Sep 2012 09:01 AM PDT The Simon Hopper BandFri 21st September 2012 The Song Loft welcomes back The Simon Hopper Band. His songs are topical, wordy and intelligent.' British folk/roots artists rarely get the air-play they deserve and Simon Hopper is no exception. They do not pull any political punches and they try their damnedest to seek a deeper context or reference point in a quest for understanding. They fearlessly draw upon instruments and rhythms from outside the accepted canon. Telling new stories through new songs with a craftsman's eye and a poet's fist. Old England is new England, and it hurts. The songs are influenced by British Folk, Joni Mitchell, Loudon Wainwright, Ron Sexsmith & Dylan. Simon has shared the stage with Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Clive Gregson & Iain Matthews, among others. Clive and Iain have gone on record in praising his craft. File, if you must, under jazz-influenced, acoustic, soul-based folk rock... or better still, just listen. Starts 8:15pm Entry £7 Oak Room, Cock Hotel Tickets available on the door or contact songloft@gmail.com. www.thesongloft.co.uk | |||||||
