Marketing Co-ordinator Status: Full Time, 6 month fixed contract 37.5 hrs per week £12,462 This is an exciting entry level position for articulate, committed and hard-working individual seeking a career in arts marketing. The post will enable the successful applicant to develop their skills in all aspects of marketing for a busy and dynamic arts venue. The Marketing Co-ordinator will report to the Programme Manager and Director of Development Tasks will include: Venue and programme marketing: • Writing and sending press releases and listings to local and national press • Collating copy and images for publicity material • Updating The Basement's website • Designing posters and flyers for programmed events • Formatting our regular arts newsletter • Using social media to inform audiences about up-coming events and raise The Basement's profile • Proof-reading publicity material • Updating our mailing list and database • Conducting research into potential new audiences • Collecting and logging audience feedback • Building and managing relationships with educational institutions Artists promotion: • Producing publicity material for commissioned performances • Promoting commissioned performances • Gathering feedback, press, marketing materials and audience figures for commissioned performances • Maintaining the organizations brand across all publicity material of the venue and artists produced by The Basement Administration support: As well as marketing and promotional duties, the Marketing Co-ordinator will be expected to undertake some administrative duties including: • Box office and front of house co-ordination • Office reception • Events co-ordination NB: Whilst this is an outline of the main tasks, due to the nature of The Basement and its activities, there will be times when all staff and volunteers will be expected to undertake other jobs outside of the remit of this job description, within reason, in particular on the planning, production and delivery of events. Due to event-based work of The Basement, staff are expected to work some evenings and weekends, which is considered flexi-time and to be managed on an in lieu basis.
