| Contemporary Artist visits MK Art Gallery Posted: 09 Jul 2012 05:22 AM PDT ![]() Rising star of the contemporary art world, Emma Grzonkowski is set to make a personal appearance at Castle Galleries in thecentre:mk to showcase her brand new collection, The Seven Deadly Sins on 28 July 2012 from 1-4pm. Emma's latest figurative collection is emotive with bold representations of wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony. This expressive portfolio of seven pieces allows us to explore the infinite complexity of the human condition through fine art. Visitors to Castle Galleries Milton Keynes will get the chance to meet Emma and learn more about the inspiration and intricacies behind her new collection. Inspired by Emma's inner reflections, the boutique collection comprises just seven limited edition pieces and features the artist herself within the paintings. This body of work is powerful, honest and confident whilst remaining raw and highlighting real vulnerability. Peter Viet-Lu, Gallery Manager at Castle Galleries Milton Keynes says "Emma's work makes people stop and stare. Her use of vibrant colour and careless brushstrokes has become synonymous with her much sought-after paintings. We are very excited and honoured to welcome Emma into the gallery." Emma adds: "Each of these pieces takes a little piece of me and lays it bare. From the hot flushes of colour obvious in 'Lust' through to the blood stained anger that is evident in 'Wrath', all seven sins are inspired by the reflection of self experience and emotive sense. My work is an evolving journey with each painting representing feelings and states of being. The 'Seven Deadly Sins' exhibition will comprise a combination of never-before-seen original pieces and limited edition prints and will be available to view and buy at Castle Galleries from Saturday 28th July. |
