Start the Art: Solar Sounds

Tuesday 3 July / 11am - 12noon / Free

Do you have a child under 4 who can't wait to get their hands dirty? Join our friendly artists who will help you and your child explore the joys of art through a range of multi-sensory activities, including painting, drawing and mark-making.

The sun is so quiet that we cannot hear it! But if we listen hard, what do you imagine we can hear? Come along and explore the sun and it's sounds this week, as we are joined by visiting sound artist Jonny Hill.

Studio space - Inter-Action MK is looking for Artists in Residence

Deadline for applications 20th July 2012

Inter-Action MK is running its Artist in Residence (AiR) programme again this year and is looking for artists and people in the creative industries from all disciplines to get involved.

The Artist in Residence scheme aims to support developing artists by providing studio space and facilities through an agreement made up of either paid rents or payment in kind through providing artistic or technical skills to enhance the organisation. Inter-Action MK offers the opportunity for Artists in Residence to work with new audiences on new, creative activities and broaden their contact base.

The aim of the scheme is to create an active, exciting and artistic community based at Inter-Action, provide the organisation with skills that will enhance IA offer and broaden the scope and opportunity for artistic delivery or add value to the organisation, and support emerging and established artists by providing affordable and flexible space, profiling, and opportunities for developing practice.

Community arts charity Inter-Action MK has been bringing arts to life in Milton Keynes for over 35 years. We use the arts to improve the life chances of Disabled people and people in challenging circumstances. Our innovative programme of inclusive arts successfully brings people of all backgrounds together in shared creative activity. Our programme helps participants to develop creative, personal and social skills. Based at the Old Rectory site and open to the public to visit, Inter-Action MK is a green oasis and ancient scheduled monument nestled between the housing estates of Woughton Parish. Inter-Action MK has developed the site into creative hub for the local community.

For more details about the scheme and possible agreement models please contact us on info@interactionmk.org.uk

To be considered for the scheme artists will need to send in a CV and samples of their work, state which agreement model they would be interested in and propose projects / activities / services that they could provide Inter-Action in lieu of rent (if appropriate).
