Design steps focused on maximising natural daylight, increasing solar gain, achieving rigorous Passivhaus airtightness and a thermal bridge free timber load bearing structure.Passivhaus offers credible and genuine benefit to users and the environment, including: minimised energy consumption; avoidance of building defects that can lead to mould growth; excellent standards of thermal comfort (satisfying ASHRAE55 and according with EN7730); minimised energy bills; high standards of indoor air quality; and optimised lifecycle costs.Despite no additional funds being available to achieve Passivhaus, the scheme was successfully delivered and achieved Passivhaus certification within the given timeframe and budget allocated."Booking:Please book via riba.westmidlands@riba.org or 0121 233 2321Fees:Full price: £12.50 + VAT (£15)RIBA Members: £10 + VAT (£12)Concessions and students: £7.50 + VAT (£9)See More |
