call for submissions deadline 7 April hatchnottingham.co.uk/

call for submissions: "

As part of our programme for the NEAT 11 festival organised by Nottingham Playhouse, Hatch is looking for performers to deliver one of two bus tours/performance lectures.

Free buses have been organised to take audience members to two of the out-of-town venues we are using as part of our programme for the festival. We will commission two
performances to take place on the way.

The first will happen on Thursday 2 June, with the audience en route to Sugar Statues by Krissi Musiol at the Polish Eagle Club in Carrington, the second on Tuesday 7 June, on the way to 30 Bird Production’s Poland 3 Iran 2 at the City Ground, home of Nottingham Forest FC.

We’d suggest as a starting point that the 2 June performance examines the history of the Polish community in Nottingham, while the 7 June performance concentrates on the history of football in Nottingham, but we’re interested to hear any sorts of proposals that connect with those ideas. It could be a thrillingly detailed and meticulously researched historical dissection, an exploration of a fantastic alternate geography, or a series of bizarre variations on the theme.

On both dates, the bus will leave Nottingham Playhouse at 6:30pm and we’d expect each journey to last around 40 minutes.

Please submit your proposal on one side of A4, along with an application form, an outline of the sort of route you’d like your journey to take and a list of the landmarks you’d like to visit. Performances don’t have to take place entirely on the bus, but will need to fit into the time available.

The fee (including expenses) for each commission is 100 GBP, payable on receipt of invoice after the event.

The deadline for submissions is Monday 11 April.

Thank you for your time, we look forward to hearing from you.
